How are you doing?

How’re you doing, my friend?

Has life changed drastically for you in the last few weeks? Are you in the thick of it and deemed an essential employee or are you non-essential?

Our life has changed drastically. My 9-4 job went to just 2 employees last week and I was not one of those employees. My fiance’s gym shut down as well. So, we’ve both been out of work for a week now. I’ve applied for unemployment but haven’t heard anything yet. His situation is a little trickier since he’s a 1099 Independent Contractor so I’ve been doing all the research to help him out. Here’s a little fact sheet for Independent Contractors if anyone else needs it.

To say we’ve felt the stress is a little understatement haha.

There is a silver-lining though. It’s given me more time to work on my Personal Training business AND spend more time with my baby girl.

Two of my daily goals I write down every single day is 1) I stay home part-time with Isabella and 2) My Personal Training business becomes my primary job. I get a chance to do both right now and I’m trying my best to take advantage of it while I can.

The personal training business is harder to take off. I spoke with a strategist today and I’m hoping I can get some traction going. I have faith though!

What else are you doing to stay sane? Do you have routines you’re trying to keep or have they all gone out the window at this point?

My routine is simple: Wake up before 8 to pump, work on Personal Training until about noon, eat, play with baby, work a little more for an hour or 2, cook. I add in a 2 mile walk about 3-4 days a week with lower body and core workout. My shoulder and arm are getting worse each day and my doctor won’t see me for it. That’s frustrating for sure but it’s the Veteran’s Affairs. I know I need an MRI to figure out the problem.

I also take time to read for the business, personal training, and for fun.

Tell me about you! What’s going on where you are? How are you doing?

As a thank you for sticking with me, I’ve also included two resources for you to help you get through this situation with as much clarity and sanity as we possibly can.

  1. Hi Nikki. I was just telling Don, we have to do something about this stress. He is still working, but we are in panic mode every day. He does everything he can to stay safe at work, but, you just never know. I do clean more now every day. LOL Wiping down everything he touches. He comes home, washes face and hands, changes clothes, places shoes in another room, washes hands again before we can hug, touch, kiss or cuddle. Someone returned some dishes the other day (we’re always cooking for others). Don met them outside, took the dishes and placed them directly into the dishwasher, he wouldn’t let me touch them (although they were washed before they brought them back). I keep thinking we need to get into an exercise routine, yet, we’re both tired every day. We are discussing inexpensive ways to start working in the yard. What’s wrong with your arm and shoulder?
